This rare book of how Hyde was affected by the start of 'The Great War' can be read in the Library at Hyde. Very few copies have turned up and I am sure this is the first time it can be viewed in its entirety on the internet. As far as can be gleaned Part 2 was never sent to print. Tom Wigley June 1st 2014

Glad to see that on the 100 anniversary of the start on WW1 over 340 people visit the site to view the book. I hope many more Hydonians get to view this book, be it here or if they are lucky enough to get hold of a copy... I was contacted yesterday from a Hyde lad who has a copy and took the time to pick it up yesterday and read through it.
